10-Minute Grain-Free Muddy Buddies!

10 MINUTE GRAIN-FREE MUDDY BUDDIES! (aka: puppy chow) Are you team puppy chow or muddy buddies? I honestly have no preference and refer to both! But fun fact; I never had muddy buddies growing up and didn’t even know what they were until about a year ago! LOL – so of course I looked it up, saw the ingredients in the classic recipes (cereal, chocolate, peanut butter, and powdered sugar). Being that I hadn’t yet found a clean cereal and don’t eat peanut butter or powdered sugar, I was at a stand still to try it…until NOW!

I recently discovered Lovebird grain-free cereal and instantly fell in love after trying it! And the ingredients are on point, and the taste and texture surpassed my expectations!

And of course I always use Sunbutter as a replacement for peanut butter (if you haven’t tried Sunbutter yet what are you waiting for?) The texture is creamy just like peanut butter with it’s 100% free from peanuts and nuts altogether! And since I use their organic version, it’s sugar and salt free (literally just one ingredient: organic roasted sunflower seeds)

If you want to make this recipe a bit on the sweeter side, feel free to use Hu Kitchen Gems (sweetened with coconut sugar) but if you want this recipe lower in sugar, use the chocolate I did here which was Santa Barbara Chocolate 1-ingredient, unsweetened organic chocolate chips – it’s soooo pure, you honestly don’t need the sugar!

And for the powdered sugar replacement, I used my very own Digestive Support Protein Powder (it worked PERFECTLY and adds nutritional value plus protein and probiotics!) I used the cacao version but you can easily use the vanilla if you have that on hand.

Total time: 10 minutes
Makes alot! LOL

Ingredients:
1 box of Lovebird unsweetened grain-free cereal (code: lilsipper)
1 cup of unsweetened chocolate chips (code: lilsipper)
1/2 cup of Organic Sunbutter
3-4 scoops of my x Nuzest Digestive Support Cacao Protein power (Vanilla will also work)

Method:
Pour cereal in a large bowl and set aside. Melt chocolate chips and sunbutter together (microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then microwave for another 30 seconds). Pour melted chocolate/sunbutter over cereal and stir to coat. Once coated, place in refrigerator for about 5-7 minutes, just enough for the chocolate to become “room temp” but make sure it doesn’t harden completely because you want the protein powder to stick to it (it should still have some “shine” to the chocolate). Remove cereal from refrigerator and coat with my Digestive Support Protein powder. For best results, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator but you can also store in a cool room (as long as the chocolate doesn’t melt)
