Easy Turkey Chili

This is one of those meals you can throw together quickly if you’re pressed for time, then let it simmer for hours OR turn up the heat and it cooks in 30 minutes! All up to you and your schedule!

It can even be made in a crockpot (I prefer the non-toxic crockpot from Our Place – code: DIGEST)

DIETARY VARIATIONS

Vegan:
– Replace the turkey with more beans or lentils and replace the bone broth with veggie broth

Paleo / Grain-Free
– Omit the beans and add chopped butternut squash (so good!)

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

– Warm in a bowl as is!
– Add shredded cheese on top
– Serve with a side of grilled cheese sandwich
– Serve with a side of sourdough bread and butter

RECIPE

Serves: 4-7
Ingredients:
20 oz ground turkey (90%)
1 small white onion, chopped
3 Tbsp of organic CLEAN chili powder
2 cups diced tomatoes
16 oz tomato sauce (no citric acid or “natural flavors”)
3-4 green onions, chopped
2 cups of grass-fed bone broth (I prefer Bonafide Provisions no salt added)
2 (16 oz) organic canned kidney beans (make sure it doesn’t have natural flavors or chloride, or other ingredients. It should just have beans, water, and salt!) – low carb option would be to omit the beans entirely.

use code: DIGEST

Directions:
1. Cook turkey and chopped onions in a deep pot (I used my Our Place “Perfect Pot” under the “Dutch Oven” category – used code: DIGEST for a discount) with a little oil. Add spices and continue to cook on until turkey is 100% done.

2. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for about 20 minutes to allow chili to thicken and flavors to combine.
