Here, I’m answering the most asked questions seen in my Instagram messages regarding my Digestive Enzymes I developed with Nuzest USA. I hope this is helpful and clears up a few questions you may have about enzymes probiotics….so let’s get to it!
Q: What are enzymes?
A: Enzymes break down the foods we eat. Glands in our bodies produce them naturally starting in the mouth, stomach, and small intestines to properly digest food and for optimal nutrient absorption. But when these glands are non-functioning or damaged, digestive enzyme supplements can truly be helpful for proper digestion.

Q: If I take probiotics, do I need to take digestive enzymes?
A: Probiotics and enzymes are two entirely different things. As mentioned above, enzymes help break down food in our digestive system. They are not probiotics (good bacteria for out gut).
Q: Are enzymes get killed by heat?
A: Yes and No. The temperature of which enzymes are killed is 110 F, so as long as you don’t bake them into something they can still be added to hot beverages, soups, and given the fact you are eating food well under 118 F (and I hope you are!)
Q: Can you break the capsules open?
A: Yes! If you have a hard time swallowing pills or have a child who cannot yet take supplements in pill form, you can break these capsules open and put them directly on or in food (I often do this myself because it’s actually beneficial to have the enzymes in direct contact with your food, though they still help when swallowed as a pill).

Q: How often should I take them?
A: Preferably with lunch and dinner, and if you have a big breakfast, feel free to take them along with your morning meal too! Depending on how severe your digestion is and what you eat in a particular meal. If you are having a light lunch, you may not need them and hold of taking them until dinner if dinner is your biggest meal. Ultimately it’s up to you. I personally skip them at breakfast (since mine are typically light) and take 2 at lunch and 2 at dinner.
Q: When should I take them?
A: Right before or during your meal. After your meal is not recommended.
Q: Can I take too many in a day?
A: I recommend 2 – 4 capsules each day, but no more than 4 capsules per day (1 – 2 at lunch and dinner, or 1 at breakfast, lunch, and 2 at dinner)
Everything Bethany produces helps me and this was no exception. I take 2 before a meal that I know might cause an IBS flair up or on days I don’t feel like making a smoothie with her protein (which is 10/10) and this is a life saver. My quality of life has truly improved since regularly taking these enzymes and the protein powder. I have such loyalty to Nuzest and Bethany for helping so much :).
