Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits Remake

This was specifically requested by my husband and he stated “these were the only thing that was good from that place” lol – so of course as a wife I took on that challenge to remake these iconic biscuits with really just a few staples you all should already have in your home!
Seems like a lot of ingredients (IMO since I don’t typically use more than 5 ingredients if you noticed from my past recipes) but it’s mostly just spices!
Products I Used / Have:

Ingredients for the biscuits
The flour I use (this is organic and freshly milled, single seed flour that’s easier to digest with less gluten)

The buttermilk and butter will look “chunky” but THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT!
The little bits of butter is exactly what you want to acheive the flaky butter-y texture we all know and love in biscuits.

The dough should look lke the above after folding in teh cheddar cheese.

Use a 1/4 measuring scoop (see below for the ones I used and have) to measure out your biscuit dough.

Make the sauce while the biscuits are int eh oven.

Emmediately brush the biscuits after they come out of the oven and serve righ away!

Ingredients:
– 1 cup of freshly shredded cheddar cheese
– 8 Tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter
– 3/4 cup of buttermilk
– 2 cups of organic freshly milled flour (I used THIS BRAND)
– 1 Tbsp of aluminum-free baking powder
– 1 1/2 tsp of organic garlic powder
– pinch of tsp of sea salt
– 1/2 tsp of aluminum-free baking soda
– 4 Tbsp of unsalted butter
– 1/2 tsp dried parsley
– 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Make the biscuits:
Preheat the oven to 450 F. Melt 8 Tbsp of butter and add that to the buttermilk and stir to combine and set aside. Add flour, baking powder, garlic powder, sea salt, and baking soda in a large bowl and whisk until combined. Add the buttermilk mixture and gently stir until no dry flour remains and a soft dough forms. Next, fold in the grated cheese. Using a 1/4 measuring cup, scoop out portions of the dough and place on a lined baking sheet. Bake until the biscuits are golden brown, about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, make the garlic butter.
Melt 4 Tbsp of butter and stir in remaining ingredients. As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, liberally brush each top with the garlic butter and serve immediately.
