Recently (but for a long time now) Instagram has been continuing to make changes to the algorithm, blocking content from certain creators, and hiding posts to their followers (YOU!)
As for many, Instagram is how I pay my bills and livelihood. It’s how I make a living and income.
Brands look at not how many followers you have, but the engagement (likes predominantly and comments) each post has.
If a brand looks at my posts and only sees 3,000 likes, compared to my following, that’s NOT GOOD enough (I used to get 10,000 – 20,000 likes per post) and they pass on working with me – making my income sparse.
I only collaborate with brands I truly and 100% stand behind, but even many brands I love have declined working with me
I saw THIS POST which explains it quite well.
THE BELOW IMAGES EXPLAIN IT SO WELL
All this to say, I so appreciate everyone who has supported me thus far, but it’s really come down to me rethinking this “job” and looking into other options (i.e. quitting Instagram and looking for something else to support myself) I love sharing recipes, IBS tips, and ultimately helping those in need (all FREE to you!) but I cannot provide that content without your help and support.
But what about my book? Most authors do not make money. I actually had to pay $35,000 towards this book (i.e. professional photos, professional grammatical writer to put everything I wrote into cohesive content, etc. – publishers do not cover this.) – So for those thinking I am making bank, that’s quite the contrary. I knew this going into writing this book….and I did it in hopes to help others.
All this to say, your simple likes and commenting on my Instagram is really what helps me pay my bills – and allows me to continue to create FREE content for YOU. Thank you for reading this and all your support. I hope to see you on Instagram!
